Upah Appointed to Board of Directors

Robert Thomas, President of United Bank & Trust, announces the appointment of Sam Upah to the bank’s Board of Directors.
Upah received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Wartburg College. During college, he worked for a grain elevator in northern Iowa and was promoted to a management position after graduation. His banking career began in 2016 as a credit analyst for another financial institution before joining United Bank & Trust in 2018 as a commercial/ag lender. In 2022, he was promoted to Senior Loan Officer, overseeing lending and operations for the loan department.
“Sam brings value to the board not only with his expertise in commercial and ag lending, but also with his background in agriculture. He shares the bank’s vision while supporting and contributing to the bank’s strategic direction, making him an invaluable member of the bank and board,” commented Thomas.
Upah is active in the community, currently serving as treasurer of the Marshalltown Area United Way. He and his family reside in Marshall County.
