Vargas-Avalos Appointed to Board of Directors

Robert Thomas, President of United Bank & Trust, announces the appointment of Gabriela Vargas-Avalos to the bank’s Board of Directors.
Vargas-Avalos received her bachelor’s degree in Finance and Banking from Buena Vista University. She is the owner of Abarrotes La Salud in Marshalltown and has over 16 years retail-banking experience from a local financial institution.
“I am excited to welcome Gabriela to the bank’s board and am looking forward to the unique perspective she will provide,” stated Thomas. “Her banking experience, business expertise and involvement in the community are all attributes that will be beneficial to the success of the bank and its customers.”
Vargas-Avalos currently serves on the Marshalltown Area United Way board. She and her family reside in Marshalltown.
